Announcing the card.io mobile payments SDK and the card.io payments app!

It's been a busy few months for card.io, and we're excited to announce two major new products:

1. The card.io mobile payment SDK. When we launched the scanning SDK, we got great feedback from app developers, but we also heard that payment processing was still a huge pain point. Today we're releasing a new version of our SDK: a full-stack payment solution for any mobile app. Any app developer can download the SDK, integrate with their app (iOS or Android), and start accepting payments. There's no merchant account, and your payments are deposited directly into a bank account or PayPal account. Even better, there's no monthly fees or setup fees: you pay only when a user makes a payment, 3.5% + 30 cents.

2. card.io payments, an app for anyone to accept credit card payments. You don't need any extra hardware, and it's the fastest and easiest way to charge. card.io payments is perfect for splitting the tab at lunch, paying a friend back for gas on that road trip, or making a craigslist purchase. There's no monthly fees or setup fees: you pay only when a user makes a payment, 3.5% + 30 cents. The card.io payments app is available here for iOS and Android.

Check it out and let us know what you think!

  1. This is good for mobile based shopping sites as these APIs make it easier for people to transact online via paypal route. epos systems are also improving their UI for mobile commerce that flexes credit card and merchant account payments.
